Paris had one.
So New York had to get in on the action.
And citizens of The Second City were not about to be left without their own "Latin Quarter".When was the last time you took in dinner and a show? Turkish belly dancing? The de Castro sisters from Havana? For mid-century Chicagoans looking for a bit of bohemian affect to go with their steak and martini, 23 W. Randolph Street looks like it was the place to beat.

My dad played at the Latin Quarter in NY for 7 years, till they closed. Funny you should mention this.

My father was manager of Chicago's Latin Quarter Night Club on Randolph Street during WWII. I have autographed 8x10 B&W PR photos*still in their frame) of: TED LEWIS, MARTHA RAYE, LIND BROTHERS, RITZ BROTHERS, THE HARMONICA RASCALS, AL KELLY & WILLIE HOWARD, LOU HOLTZ, SHIRLEY DENNIS, & others.
I am now willing to sell my family's collection.

I just found a photo of my grandma at Chicago's Latin Quarter. It's her at a table with a guy (not grandpa), and the photo is inside a booklet from the club. (Booklet for lack of a better word). I thought I'd look into what this moment in her history was, so I'm glad I found your post.
