Elsita :)

Oh Billy, it is hard to see the tiny pictures within the main photo. I wish that the main photo was bigger. We miss you!! And now I am getting ready for Diego's Somonas therapy :)

I think people consistently misread that Fitzgerald quote. First of all, the quote is just a random line in one of his notebooks, so it's hard to say what he really intended. Second, if you interpret "second acts" to mean there are no second chances in American life, then it's just plain wrong: America is the home of the second chance; Americans love the comeback kid!

I think Fitzgerald was talking about the second act of a three-act play or screenplay--something you know well. I think he means Americans have great beginnings and flashy endings but the long middle part is absent either from our lives or from our consciousness.
