much better than my sex with bill clinton dream. hmmmm, my favorite dreams are when I am alone in a warehouse with racks of vintage clothes. i imagine all kinds of dresses that I have never seen. as for interpretation? (i love two-bit psycho- analysis) playing with heads... getting more out of social activity and having fun than taking supposed valuables too seriously? the broken head thrown in the mud - maybe the broken heel?, the wedding and cousins- a yearning for family and having those you love close by? argumentative and stern male figures - a need for approval ? fighting to prove yourself in Hollywood? fear of not wearing the right clothes or having the right stuff to win approval? so glad you are lucid enough now to recount it all - we love you and are thinking about your health mucho.
ps. i took a swimming class yesterday and recommend aqua therapy when you get back- takes the weight off the limbs while exercising the whole corp. core strengthening as well - xoxoxo

Incredible dream and even more incredible that you remember so much of it! I am terrible at analyzing dreams but it was an interesting read. Hope you are feeling a bit better each day!

This is such good news: Bill being Bill. That is, writing, keeping a diary, being insightful, being creative and interesting!

This is the two-edged sword of painkillers, they let you sleep, but what weird dreams they produce. My two-cent psychoanalysis is that the dream represents free floating anxiety, will you be made whole again and fit into your former life? The answer is "yes and no" because it is impossible not be be changed by the experience, but it's mostly for the good. Hang in there, and I hope that you are getting better every day.

WOW, what an amazing and convoluted dream! Dreams are so intensely personal, it's difficult to analyze someone else's (especially someone one doesn't know very well). The first part, though, seems directly related to the fragility of our bodies, with the stone/wood heads representing our bodies. Sometimes we treat them well, and sometimes we forget to. The rest of that dream is beyond me completely... maybe Elsa will have some insight!

Wishing you well, Bill!

maybe has something to do with what Jung called ancestral memories with totems or stone souls
it is so wonderful you remember so much detail and write with such passion.

Our brains function as sorters, organizers, catagorizers, a file cabinet if you wish. When trauma occurs and drugs are introduced the assorted thoughts, images, wishes, memories etc. meld to produce the fantastical. Your dream is a lovely perfect example of that phenomenon.

I think it most poetic that Charlie Kaufman appears in your dream, as his films are infused with just that melding of, that blurring of, that distortion of, thoughts , images, wishes and memories, thereby realizing a fertile landscape for the surreal.

Thank you for sharing your dream.....

I left you well wishes on your post yesterday, but somehow it got lost in the ether. I am impressed beyond belief that you are lucid enough to write these vivid posts.

The Henri Rousseau is a perfect pairing with this fantastical tale.

How wonderful that your subconscious knew to bring your family to you as you recover from your injuries so many miles away from them.

I smiled when your uncle advised you to look at the rose-colored glass.

I'm sending healing thoughts across the Pacific to you so that you can be with your family soon.

Wow Billy!
To me this dream has a little bit of all the different elements connected to your fears from the past, the present and the future.

The part about Synecdoche and Charlie Kaufman is key. Just remember how much you struggled while that movie was getting made. And how deep and powerful the movie itself is. I would love to watch Synecdoche with you again because I am sure that you will find lots of new meanings in it.

The most important thing about this dream is actually that you had it. It means that your mind is awake and alive. I am so happy about that. Billy is back! (as your Mom said)
I love you!!
Elsi :)
